![]() We spent a relaxing, intentional fun time with our daughter, enjoying both active and relaxing moments. Highlights included scuba diving, indulging in the banana split (a delicious concoction of tropical sorbets and banana and passion fruit) and grilled tuna, and drinking coffee on the bungalow while watching fish in the water. The Four Seasons Bora Bora was a dreamy vacation filled with memorable moments. We saw manta rays as large as Volkswagens, making the experience unforgettable. Later in the week, we participated in a scuba diving trip with the resort, where we had the opportunity to snorkel in and out of the reef. The tour guide gave us an extensive lesson on coconuts and every way that they utilize them. Our lunch was an unforgettable experience, as we dined on a picnic table in the water while rays and sharks swam around our feet. The first was with a private company called Lagoon Services, where we visited three different snorkeling spots, one with stingrays, one with sharks, and one at the coral garden. We also embarked on two exciting excursions while in Bora Bora. Our favorite meal was breakfast, where we sampled a variety of fruits, pastries, fresh omelets, juices, and cappuccinos while taking in the stunning scenery. ![]() While the Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora had a limited number of restaurants, we found each one to be delicious and worth trying. To simplify our dining experience, we pre-paid for three meals per day. We were delighted to find champagne, desserts, and a thoughtful “Happy Birthday” message on our bed upon arrival. The daily supply of robes, water, and coffee made us feel pampered, and the service twice daily to freshen the rooms was prompt and efficient. Our overwater bungalow on this trip was spacious and elegantly furnished. The mountain in the background was indescribable and added to the breathtaking scenery. The water was clear and blue, and the Polynesian drummers who greeted us made the experience even more magical. The lagoon sanctuary is maintained in partnership with the Pacific Eco-World Initiative, a non-profit organization. The boat ride to the resort took less than ten minutes and our first glimpse of the Four Seasons Bora Bora bungalows was enchanting. Marine life within the lagoon include such species as octopus, eagle ray, lizard fish, Picasso trumpet fish, soldier fish, fire fish, unicorn fish, spotted puffer fish, parrot fish, peacock damselfish, clown fish, butterfly fish, sea urchin, anemone and shrimp. A marine biologist conducts ongoing research, teaches the principles of conservation to guests on tours (Monday, Wednesday, & Friday) and grafts coral in effort to further the development of the lagoon.
